Dear Activists!
Another two weeks have passed, so we bring you the summary of the most important developements.
PHOTOS
The group responsible for Hungary has visted us in the beginning of February from AI's International Secretariat. As You already know, the cause of their visit were the violent attacks against the Romani. They travelled to several towns, talked to the family of the victims and the authorities, and made recommendations for effective action against the attacks. GROUPS
The first aknowledged group of Amnesty International Hungary is still Multi-Kulti, but due to their persistent and enthusiastic work, LMBT is very effective too, their activities can be seen during numerous programmes, movie sceenings and events. Other groups are being organized, such as the Roma group, the Violence against Women group, the Szeged and the Nógrád group, and the latest, the Iran – Emergency Group. OFFICE
From the 8th of February we have two new trainees in the Amnesty office. Our office trainee, Flóra is a last year international studies student at ELTE, our translator, Zsombor is an english student of the University of Pannonia. We will sonn have to say goodbye to Zsófi, our activism campaign-coordinator assistant, who has been helping our work since September. We will be looking for a new trainee in her place and we will soon open the position. If You would like to be engaged in activism and You would be interested in working as our trainee, please write to aktivizmus@amnesty.hu.
ACTUALITIES

UPCOMING EVENTS
Our Violence against Women group will begin work soon, and as the first step, we have organized the first meeting. We are glad, that men too have taken interest in this group. If You want, please come and together we can work in an effective and active group.

8TH MARCH – INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Women's Day is coming. On this occasion, we will organize an Awareness raising Quiz. We are looking for three people groups (aktivizmus@amnesty.hu), but You can send your application alone and we will put you in a group. We will have more information about the date and place by next week. If You have any ideas for Women's Day, come to our gruop meeting on the 22nd of February.
