Amnesty Aktivizmus

Szeretnénk, ha az Amnesty International aktivistái tudnának egy helyet maguknak az Interneten, ahol értesülhetnek a legfrissebb eseményekről, kampányokról és Sürgős Akciókról. Ezért jött létre ez a blog.

Dear All!
We can't say that we have not been doing a lot over the past 2 weeks. We've participated in the non-discrimination training in Brussels, were participating in the IS mission and we are currently ranked 4 on the www.changeit.cz/ webaction! You are great! Let see the details:
Last week I attended an amnesty non-discrimination training in Brussels where we worked hard on planning this year's non-discrimination work on a European level. The main topics included fight against Roma discrimination and the promotion of LGBT rights. There will be anti-discrimination website, photo contest and common participation in some of the European Prides. More details will follow in the upcoming months, but you can also read my report about the meeting anytime that should be ready by 26th February.
The researchers of AI's International Secretariat arrive to Hungary on 28th January. The mission is looking into the quality of the police investigations as well as of the judicial system in the cases of fatal attacks against the Roma in Hungary. Meetings started in the very next day. We've traveled to Nyíregyháza, Fényeslitke, Kisléta and Tatárszentgyörgy. We had meetings with local governments and other relevant authorities. We also delivered the postcards to Ketrin, survival of the latest Roma attack. She was very happy to receive them. Thank you.
On February 3rd we3 arranged an informal night with the researchers where they briefly presented their aim with the mission and the current issue. There were over 40 participants showing a lot of interest. We generally received positive feedback therefore we will try to organise something similar in March for those who could not attend this one. Photos will be available in our next activist newsletter on February 19th.
It's been only two weeks since we launched the international webaction against the discrimination of Romani children in Czech schools (web.amnesty.hu/ or www.changeit.cz/) and we are already ranked 4th among the most active countries in signing the online petition and thus sendig an email to the Czech Minister of Education. Sign it if you have not done so yet.
If you want to get involved let me know (aktivizmus@amnesty.hu). If you would like to join our groups please email:
